Barnard Dormitories

These dormitory rooms are $67 US/night, single rooms only, all in the same building (Plimpton Hall) and are probably the nicest accommodations. You must pay for six nights, arrive Sunday, June 22 and leave Saturday, June 28. An extra day at the beginning and at end of your stay can be added.

Reservation and payment for dormitory housing at Barnard can be carried out as part of the standard Symposium registration process.  As of May 1, all Barnard dorm rooms are filled.

Plimpton Hall is in the upper right corner of the campus map shown below.  Check in is at the main entrance to Plimpton Hall and is available 24/7.  The attendant at Plimpton will have a list of attendees and will give you your room key and an information packet.  You'll need to show an official ID to the desk attendant before being given your key, Barnard Visitor ID card (which you will need to show to enter the dorm each time you come in), and the handout for visitors.  Because the dorm is suite-style, very late-arriving guests should be as quiet as possible when entering the suite.

A short-term visitor information handout is here.  The protocol for handling any issues that arise--particularly on the weekend--is to start by contacting Public Safety, at 212-854-3362.  The dispatcher is the point person for contacting, e.g., Facilities, for any maintenance needs in the residence hall, Residence Life for key issues (during business hours), Public Safety for key problems during non-business hours, directions, etc.
